This ceremony follows the signing, on February 22, 2023 in Accra (Ghana), of a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of Regulation n° C/REG.21/12/17 relating to roaming on public mobile communications networks in the ECOWAS area, between the Telecommunications/ICT Regulatory Authority of Côte d’Ivoire (ARTCI), the National Communications Authority of Ghana (National Communications Authority – NCA) and telecommunications / ICT operators of the two (2) countries.

The implementation of community roaming will now allow any Ghanaian subscriber traveling to Côte d’Ivoire and vice versa for any Ivorian in Ghana, to continue to use his phone number and benefit from affordable tariff conditions for his communications, including free reception of calls in a roaming situation.

ARTCI, which ensures the operational coordination of implementation work at the regional level, intends to continue this bilateral cooperation approach and extend it to all Member States.
