Mrs. Namahoua Touré, Director General of ARTCI received on Thursday, February 08, 2024, a delegation from the YANGO company, led by its vice-president, Raley White. This hearing aimed to take stock of the evolution of YANGO’s activities in Côte d’Ivoire and to discuss the progress of its request for authorization for the provision of postal activities and its compliance with personal data.
Launched in Côte d’Ivoire in 2022, YANGO has grown rapidly, becoming the most popular transport application in the country with more than 9 million monthly users. Apart from Abidjan, the company has also expanded its activities to other Ivorian cities such as Bouake, Yamoussoukro, San-Pédro and Korhogo. YANGO has also implemented the YANGO DELI activity and now YANGO DELIVERY for which it is seeking authorization from the ARTCI. It should be noted that YANGO DELIVERY carries out collection and delivery activities for parcels and goods through an electronic platform. These activities require authorization from the ARTCI.
On the evolution of the processing of their file, the managers of the YANGO company were reassured by the ARTCI of its smooth progress due to the completeness of the file. The company has also made significant progress in its compliance with personal data, with an audit and training already completed.
The meeting between YANGO and ARTCI is part of ARTCI’s policy aimed at strengthening exchanges between the regulator and regulated market players for better support in the exercise of their activities, in compliance with regulatory provisions.
